‘Eight Miles High’ was originally released as a single in 1966 and featured on the U.S Top 20 album ‘Fifth Dimension’. This track is known to be one of the bands finest moments. ‘So You Want Be A Rock And Roll Star’ was originally released as a hit single in 1967 and featured on their the top selling and highly acclaimed ‘Younger Than Yesterday’ album. Upon it’s release as a single in 1970, ‘Chestnut Mare’ also reached the upper ranks of the charts and featured on an album called ‘Untitled’, which was released in the same year. Not only did the band achieve a huge success with the release of some 13-studio albums, in 1969 The Byrds’ ‘Wasn’t Born To Follow’ featured on the enormous box office hit movie-soundtrack for Dennis Hopper’s ‘Easy Rider’. A further 2 solo tracks by frontman Roger McGuinn also featured on the soundtrack.
